Evelyn Resh MPH,CNM(Certified Sexuality Counselor & Nurse-Midwife)answered(8/22/2012)Relax and don't worry. Even if your partner does feel the ring, it won't in anyway interfere with using it or make him/her uncomfortable - as in cause pain. It is very soft and pliable and generally adheres to the vaginal wall. Yes, your partner will likely feel it but noticing it is about as far as it will go and shouldn't cause a problem for any reason. Mnny of my patients find this method a great choice. I hope this is true for you as well.
Bob Smithing, MSN, NP, FAANP(Family Nurse Practitioner)answered(11/25/2012)I agree with Evelyn, but if the ring does bother you or your partner you can remove it during sex. It can stay out for no more than 3 hours and still be effective. Don't forget to put it back in though. I'd suggest trying things with the Nuvaring in place first.
