Evelyn Resh MPH,CNM(Certified Sexuality Counselor & Nurse-Midwife)answered(8/16/2012)Alas, spider veins and other varicose veins are largely determined by genetics. If either of your parents have them, you probably will too. BUT, stay slim, exercise, (swimming is especially great as your weightless while also improving over all circulation) and you can wear support stockings if you have a job that requires you stand for long periods of time. These can make you more comfortable and reduce the stasis (pooling) of blood in the veins. The stockings sort-of work against gravity. Otherwise, gracefully accept your lot and don't worry about those little spiders.
