Botanical Bedroom Bliss
Zestra Essential Arousal Oils
The Issue: No matter how fab (or lackluster) the sex may be, making it more pleasurable is always on our wish list.
The Fix: Zestra, a liquid gateway to great sex. It's a female sexual enhancement product that increases feelings of sexual desire, arousal and sensitivity to touch. Zestra's made of botanical oils and extracts (not hormones) which are actually proven to pack a powerfully titillating punch and be gentle on your sensitive parts all at the same time (does Zestra come in the form of men too?).
After applying the oil-based liquid to your lady parts (specifically the clitoris and labia), the area "down there" will feel warm and tingly, with pings of arousal. It takes about three to five minutes for the effects to kick in and can last up to 45 minutes. Everything that naturally occurs during sex or masturbation without Zestra also happens with Zestra, except faster and more intensely.
Our expert, NYC sex coach and sexuality educator Amy Levine, says it's great to use "when you want to feel more turned on," with effects that are "o-mazing." She reminds us, though, that it can't work wonders completely by itself: "the mind is the other half of sexual arousal--it'll only work if you're living in the moment, rather than focusing on your to-do list."
Zestra has a mild, earthy scent. It comes in liquid (not gel) form, and won't stain fabrics--so feel free to claw at pillows, sheets and undies. Since you use Zestra on the clitoris and labia to heighten arousal and sensitivity, you can also use lubricant to further increase satisfaction (you'd simply first apply Zestra, wait five minutes for it to kick in, then apply your lube). Also, since it's oil-based, make sure to use Zestra only with polyurethane condoms, like Trojan Supra, since it'll break down latex. You can get more medical and safety info here.
A box of 12 packets costs $50, but you can try two sample packets for $5 (the shipping and handling costs) to see if it rubs you the right way.
