Be Mine, C9

User Pick: C9 by Champion Activewear at Target

The Issue: Burning calories shouldn't entail burning a hole in your wallet. You wanna sweat in style, but on the cheap.

The Fix: Say goodbye to those beat-up high school booty shorts and old sorority t-shirts you keep frumping around in at the gym...and say hello to C9 by Champion activewear, available at Target. In these stylish workout clothes, you'll no longer have to be embarrassed if you run into someone you know at the gym.

When we asked our Facebook and Twitter followers about their favorite affordable workout gear, lots of ladies were lovin' on this line. Nicole Shue says C9 offers a "high [level of] support for those who need it" but is also "fashionable and flirty for those who don't." Camie Bomar loves that C9 fits great and lasts forever. Others who love C9 include Ashley Sawtelle and Pamela Lund, who specifically recommends these $17.99 pants for their fantastic fit (which is also super slimming).

C9 clearly just gets it: it's affordable, cute, works well, and for workout clothing, is actually pretty cool. One of our readers, Kelly Hoey, pointed out that she read in Vogue that the line is a favorite of socialite Blaine Trump (yeah, we didn't know exactly who Blaine was either pre-Googling).

C9 makes the full gamut of activewear, including sports bras ($8-$17), pants and capris ($9-$25), shorts ($7-$25), tees, tanks & camis ($5-$25), hoodies and jackets ($14-$35) and shoes ($14-$28). Some items even offer cool clothing technology like "duo dry" (speeds evaporation to help you stay cool and dry), seamless comfort, ventilation, water resistance, antimicrobial fabric that fights odors, UV protection, etc. Not bad, Tarjay, not bad.

Thanks to C9, there's no need to drop a wad of cash on clothing you're just going to make all sweaty and stanky. That money's better spent on the celebratory shopping spree you'll deserve when you get into great shape.

I have a mix of workout pants from Nike to Lululemon, but my C9 crops are some of my favorite. They are comfortable, affordable, and I've had comments from other people that they look "fancy".
